What are Canson Pads?

There are many different types of Canson pads suitable for different media types and drawing techniques. Each type of Canson pads are created with different fibres which make them more suitable for various applications. Before selecting a Canson pad it is important to understand which product would suit you and your needs most.

Types of Canson Pads:

 Mixed Media Pad

Mixed media is suitable for various media types, such as acrylic, gouache, lead drawing and watercolour. This Canson pad is heavy sizing which makes it excellent for watercolours and acrylics. This fine tooth paper has room for plenty of mistakes, therefore erasing on this paper will not ruin the quality, and blending media types on this Canson is easy due to the fine texture. The Mixed media pad is A4 spiral bound with 30 sheets per pad.

XL Croquis Sketch Pad

The XL Croquis Drawing Sketch Pad is extremely resistant to erasing, blending and scraping, and as a result, is perfect for students and those who want to create art on the go whilst also maximising creativity. It is designed for all dry techniques whether art is created using pencil, charcoal, or pastel. The surface is excellent for obtaining sharp detail and precise lines and curves. We recommend the Canson 'XL' Spiral Sketch Pad that has 120 pages, bulky acid free paper, neutral white shade & micro-perforated.

XL Recycled Drawing

The XL Canson Recycled Drawing pad is available in A3 or A4 is designed for the environmentally conscious, created from 100% recycled fibres. Dessin Noir

The Dessin Noir is a pad of black paper with two different surface types one with a smooth surface perfect for a felt-tip pen, acrylic markers and a normal marker pen. And fine grain on the reverse for opaque pens and inks, pencils, gouache and pastel. The most popular artwork created on this paper is contrasting black and white pieces, the black paper creates significant detail of lines and different tones. This sketch pad comes with perforated sheets for ease of removal.
